Iran Talks
The meeting, held on the sidelines of a gathering of regional parties hosted by Egypt, brought together Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.
The planned visit comes while US President Donald Trump said he had canceled a scheduled trip by his envoys, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, to Islamabad for talks with Iran.
Officials said the diplomatic effort may represent President Donald Trump’s final window for negotiations before considering a large-scale US-Israeli military operation.
The visit comes a day after Iran and the US held indirect talks in Oman, which were described by Trump as “very good.”
