Israeli Recognition
Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and his Angolan counterpart, Téte António, met on Sunday in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, on the sidelines of the African Union (AU) summit.
Abdelatty underscored Egypt’s unwavering support for Somalia’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, stressing Cairo’s categorical opposition to any external attempts to partition the country.
Speaking at an extraordinary meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) foreign ministers in Jeddah, Abdelatty warned that Israel’s recognition of the self-declared region of Somaliland sets a dangerous precedent that undermines the international order and threatens regional and global stability.

The Arab League described the recognition as null, void and without legal effect, Al Arabiya reported.
