US Ambassador to Israel
The agreement was signed by Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar and US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee during a ceremony in Jerusalem.
Egypt, Arab and Islamic states condemn U.S. envoy remarks on Israeli control over occupied Arab lands, including West Bank.
In a statement by the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Kingdom described the remarks as “irresponsible” and a violation of international law, the United Nations Charter, and diplomatic norms.
Egypt expressed surprise at the remarks, saying they contradict the vision put forward by US President Donald Trump, his relevant 20-point plan related to ending the war in the Gaza Strip, and the Board of Peace meeting held in Washington on Thursday.
“The Israelis are going to be involved in providing necessary military security because it is a war zone but they will not be involved in the distribution of the food or even bringing the food into Gaza,” Huckabee said in a press conference.
