Edan Alexander
Hamas said it expected humanitarian aid to enter Gaza immediately, based on understandings reached with the United States and communicated to mediators.
“But that cannot happen as long as Gaza’s leader take delight in raping, torturing, and murdering innocent people. Can’t have it,” Trump asserted
In a statement, the Military wing of Hamas, Al-Qassam Brigades, announced that the Zionist soldier holding American citizenship, “Edan Alexander,” was released in Khan Younis “following communications with the U.S. administration, as part of the ongoing efforts by mediators to establish a ceasefire, open the crossings, and deliver aid and relief to our people in the Gaza Strip.”
Egypt and Qatar welcomed on Monday Hamas's announcement of releasing The American hostage in Gaza, Edan Alexander.
Soldier Alexander is believed to be the last living US captive held by Hamas besides four bodies of other US captives killed amid Israeli bombardment in Gaza since October 2023.
"We announce that we have lost contact with the group holding soldier Edan Alexander after a direct strike targeted their location, and we are still trying to reach them until this moment."
“I really want to believe that I will return home safe and sound to celebrate holidays and have fun with you."
Hamas said that it approved the releases based on a proposal from mediators to resume negotiations. The movement stated it has approached the initiative “responsibly and positively.”
