Sudan Ceasefire
“Egypt has been patient for a long time, but it cannot accept the continuation of this unacceptable situation indefinitely.”
Egypt outlines its firm position on the Sudan crisis: support for Sudan’s unity and territorial integrity, preservation of its national institutions, and rejection of any efforts to undermine its sovereignty, divide the country or establish parallel governing bodies.
Abdelatty emphasized that this session, held ahead of the Council’s formal meeting, represented an important platform for strengthening direct dialogue between the Peace and Security Council and the Sudanese government.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty reaffirmed to his Sudanese counterpart, Ali Youssef, the importance of reaching a ceasefire and making every effort to restore security and stability in Sudan.
