Egyptians take pride in their complex identity, and are boastful of the prominent intellectuals and sheikhs who learned how to write and read in the kuttab before joining public schools, such as Noble Laureate Naguib Mahfouz and great writer and thinker Taha Hussein among others.
In a statement of the Foreign Ministry on Monday, Egypt is looking forward that the application of this legislation would face these sorrowful phenomena to avoid leading to fanaticism, extremism and hate speech.
Egypt deems these acts as provocative and irresponsible practices that violate the sanctities of millions of Muslims and fuel hate speech.
