General Conference
The member states renewed their trust in Egypt’s chairmanship during the 15th session of the conference held in Kazan, the capital of Russia’s Republic of Tatarstan.
Dr. Khaled El-Anany’s assumption of the position of UNESCO Director-General is considered a historic achievement, being the first Egyptian, Arab, and African to hold this high post. It reflects Egypt’s distinguished status and its growing international and diplomatic influence under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, at a crucial stage for the region and the world.
