Social Protection Package
Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli said on Wednesday that the government is currently working on developing a new social protection package to increase salaries and pensions, adding that the new package will be in place as of the start of the next fiscal year.
Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has instructed the raising of minimum wages by 50 percent, reaching LE 6,000 starting from March, as part of an urgent social protection package.
He added the package comes as part of directives issued by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi at the closing session of Egypt's Economic Conference that concluded on Tuesday.
