The campaign aims to curb the production and consumption of single-use plastic bags, with a particular focus on plastic manufacturing facilities across Egypt. This initiative aligns with World Environment Day, observed globally on June 5.
The declaration was stated after launching an initiative to clean up Sharm El-Sheikh’s land and sea from plastic materials on Saturday, in preparation for hosting the COP 27 conference due in the city on November 6-18.
In a meeting with Vice-President of the European Investment Bank (EIB) Ambroise Fayolle, Fouad discussed the national strategy for climate change, which included a number of projects such as a 10-billion-dollar project that aims at producing 10 gigawatts of renewable energy through transferring thermal power plants to renewable energy-operated ones.
