CAIRO - 28 June 2020: One of the tour guides in Luxor Governorate has manufactured a mask of papyrus, which can be used for more than a month, to support tourism amid the outbreak of the coronavirus.

Said Waziri, a German-English tour guide, said that he made many products from the papyrus plant to encourage tourism.

Waziri said that he buys the plant from El-Bihera governorate and then withdraws the sugar material found in the plant with the help of his partner and then begins to manufacture, cut it and draw Pharaonic pictures on the products.

There are masks of the papyrus plant with pictures of Ain Horus, Isis, and the scarab on them.

He added in a press conference that the gags were well received by many workers in the tourism field, adding that they all conform with the specifications announced by the Ministry of Health.

It should be noted that Egypt recorded on June 27, 1168 new coronavirus cases, upping the total number of confirmed cases to 63923.

In a statement, Spokesman for the Health Ministry Khaled Megahed said 88 patients have died from the virus over the past 24 hours, raising the death toll to 2708.
