CAIRO - 3 September 2017: Hisham el-Demery, Egyptian Tourism Promotion Board chairman, stated at the end of his visit to Ukraine that most tour operators expect an increase in Ukrainian winter bookings of 20-30 percent over the same period last year.

Demery ended his visit to the Ukrainian capital Kiev, where he met with major tour operators in the Ukrainian market and representatives of the media. They discussed aspects of mutual cooperation in the coming period and how to promote the pricing policy of the Egyptian destination.

He said that the Ukrainian tourism market is one of the most promising markets exporting tourism to Egypt.

Earlier, he met with Polish tour operators in Warsaw and discussed with them the variables of the Polish tourist market and means to restore the rates of incoming tourism to the rates that were in 2010 that exceeded 600,000 tourists.

Demery also agreed to arrange a trip for Polish media to visit and promote Egypt’s tourist attractions.

Demery held several meetings with a number of Ukrainian and Polish media in which he reviewed the indicators of growth of tourism movement during the first half of this year, which came as the result of political and social stability.

He will pay a visit to four German cities from September 12 to 15, in which the Tourism Promotion Authority (TPA) will hold workshops to promote Egypt as a tourist destination.

The Tourism Promotion Authority (TPA) launched a winter tourism promotion campaign in Europe this September. The campaign, which will run until January 2018, targets markets such as the UK, Poland, Ukraine, and Germany.
