CAIRO – 3 July 2017: After the end of the FIFA Confederations Cup tournament, FIFA revealed the prizes for the Golden Ball, Golden Boot, and Golden Glove on July 2.

Julian Draxler, captain of the German team that won the Confederations Cup against Chile 1-0, was picked as the best player of the tournament receiving the Golden Ball award. Draxler managed to break the Brazilians’ domination of the Golden Ball award as Neymar, Kaka and Adriano were the last three players to receive the award.

Twenty –one- year- old striker Timo Werner received the Golden Boot award, scoring three goals and making two assists in the tournament. Werner, striker for Bundesliga (German League) runner ups RB Leipzig, will be chased in this transfer window by many European clubs after his significant performance throughout the whole season.

Chilean International and Manchester City’s goalkeeper Claudio Bravo received the Golden Glove award after his excellent performance with Chile. Bravo managed to qualify Chile for the final after saving three penalty kicks from Portugal in the semifinal of the Confederation Cup.

The 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup was held in Russia from June 17 to July 2. Germany came in first place, Chile in second, and European Champions Portugal in third place.
