Mayar Sharif becomes the first Egyptian player to win a match in a Grand Slam tournament

CAIRO, 9 February 2021: Egyptian Mayar Sherif achieved an achievement for the first time in the history of Egypt, by winning a match in a Grand Slam tournament.
 
Mayar won over the French world number 187 Chloe Paquette, to continue achieving all records in Egypt's history under her name.
 
Mayar won 2-0, the first half ended with a 7-5 lead, only to return in the second half and win the same score.
 

Mayar Sharif is ranked No. 128 in the world, which is the best classification for an Egyptian tennis player.
