CAIRO-22 January 2021: Egypt handball national team defeated Belarus 36-25 on Friday night in the second match of the main round group match.

Cairo International Hall witnessed a solid performance from the Pharaohs who dominated the match from the start to the end.

The Egyptians finished the first half with a 21-14 lead and the hosts’ dominance continued in the second half to comfortably beating Belarus by 9 goals

The Egyptians played fast and efficient handball, which helped them to fully dominate on the court.

Ahmed Hesham El Sayed Dodo put on a fantastic performance and he deservedly took the Man of the March award. 

The hosts are now leading the race to book a place in the quarter-finals as Egypt are atop of the group table with five points and they are waiting the result of Sweden’s match against Slovenia, scheduled tonight.

The Russian Handball Federation also defeated North Macedonia by 12 goals to keep their chances alive to reach the quarter-finals.

Egypt hosts the competition between 13 and 31 January 2021, with the participation of 32 teams for the first time in the competition's history.
