CAIRO, 20 January 2021: Mohamed Sanad, a professional Egyptian handball player in the ranks of the French Nimes club, is one of the most prominent stars of the Pharaohs in the "Egypt 2021" World Cup currently hosted by Egypt and continues until January 31.

Especially as he starred in Egypt's first round matches against Chile, Macedonia and Sweden.

He succeeded in winning the man of the match title in the last match against the Swedish national team, despite the loss of the national team by a goal difference of 24/23.

Speaking to Egypt 2021's official website, Sanad stated that he feels a sense of pride at playing the tournament which is hosted by his country.

"It's a dream for any player to play in a tournament hosted at home," said Sanad.

"The only downside is having no fan attendance but there's nothing we can do with the pandemic. I'd like to thank the local organising committee and the authorities.

"I have a personal goal of seeing us through to the semi-final stage. It's not going to be easy, but we're a good team and have several strong areas.

"We will take it step by step though. The current generation of Egyptian players are a mixture of young and experienced players, some of whom are able to go on for another 10 years.

"The bubble system is implemented really well, the organising committee is doing well in showing what Egypt can do in daunting circumstances."
