CAIRO-13 January 2021: Egypt will be under the spotlight by millions of handball fans around the world as the 27th IHF Men's Handball World Championship starts tonight in Cairo. 
 
Egypt handball national team faces Chile in the 2021 World Men's Handball Championship opening match at Cairo Stadium Indoor Halls Complex. 
 
The Pharaohs are looking forward to putting a strong performance in the opening game and send a message to the Egyptian fans that they are capable of fulfilling their dreams. 
 
Egypt hosts the competition between 13 and 31 January 2020, with the participation of 32 teams for the first time in the competition's history.

Most of the teams participating in the competition arrived in Egypt while the remaining teams are expected to touch down in Cairo in the next two days. 
 
The Egyptian team finished 6th when Egypt hosted the tournament for the first time in 1999 and two years later the Pharaohs finished fourth, which is the Pharaohs' best achievement in the history of the competition.
