Egyptian taekwondo players hope to return with medals

CAIRO –30 June 2017: The Egyptian national taekwondo team is competing in the Muju World Taekwondo Championship from June 24-30 in Muju, South Korea, with two fighters: Rawan Rifai (62kg) and Salah Khairi (80kg).

The Egyptians will fight their last matches of the tournament on Friday. Ranked 12th in the world, Rifai starts her 32 round on Friday with a match against the winner of the 64 round between Luxembourg's Lisa Zangarini and Czech Republic's Iveta Jirankova.

Khairi, ranked 133, will fight in the 64 round in the World Championship against Belarusian Oladzislaw Saoloko, number 51 in the world, according to the official website of the tournament.

The Egyptians hope to return from Muju with one of the medals of the tournament which witnessed a strong competition and participation records.
