CAIRO-24 October 2020: The Medical Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced on Saturday that all Pyramids players tested negative for COVID-19 ahead of the CAF Confederation Cup final.

Pyramids will face RS Berkane on Sunday night at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.

The Egyptian team reached the final in their debut participation after defeating Guinea’s Horoya 2-0 on Tuesday night in the semi-finals.

Ibrahim Hassan opened the score for the Egyptian team and one minute later the team’s veteran midfielder Abdullah El Said doubled the score to secure his team’s victory.

Pyramids players expect a tough final as they will face RS Berkane, who reached the competition’s final for the second consecutive year.

Pyramids have had an amazing run towards the competition's semi-finals in their first participation in the competition.

In the Preliminary round, Pyramids defeated Etoile du Congo 5-1 on aggregate to reach the first round where they defeated CR Belouizdad 2_1 on aggregate.

In the second round, Pyramids defeated Young Africans 5-1 on aggregate to reach the group stage. Pyramids were drawn alongside Al Masry, Enugu Rangers from Nigeria and Mauritania's FC Nouadhibou.

Pyramids won five games out of six to reach the quarter-finals as group leaders and they faced Zambian giants Zanaco but the Egyptian side achieved a 3_1 win to reach the semi-finals before securing their spot in the final for the first time in the club’s history.
