CAIRO-16 October 2020: Zamalek announced on Friday that the team Tunisian midfielder Ferjani Sassi tested positive for COVID-19.

The club statement added that the player did not have any contact with the team players since he arrived from Tunisia and he is now in self-isolation.

The player will have another test tonight. If it remained positive, the player will miss the CAF Champions League first leg against Raja Casablanca, scheduled on Sunday.

Raja Casablanca host Zamalek on Sunday night at Mohamed V Stadium and the second leg will be played a week later in Cairo.

Zamalek fans aim to win the CAF Champions League title for the sixth time in the club's history and the first time since 2002.

In 2002 final, Zamalek won the title after defeating Raja Casablanca 1-0 in Cairo as the first leg in Morocco ended in a goalless draw.

The winner between Zamalek and Raja will face the winner between Al Ahly and Wydad Casablanca in the competition's final, scheduled on 6 November.
