CAIRO- 9 October 2020: Aswan achieved a 2-1 victory over Haras El Hdoud on Thursday night to officially avoid relegation from the Egyptian Premier League.

The team head coach Ahmed Koshary sees staying in the league as a historic achievement.

"I cannot put my feelings in words, I am very happy. It is a historic achievement for us." Koshary said after the game.

Aswan were 1-0 down at half time but they managed to score two goals by their winger Ibrahim Khalil to clinch the victory.

Koshary added "I have a fantastic relationship with my players and that is one of the main reasons behind our success to avoid relegation.”

Since Koshari appointed as Aswan manager, the club had been one of the best teams in the league and achieved amazing results including defeating Cairo giants Zamalek at Cairo stadium for the first time in the club’s history.

The Heroes of the South reached the 37-points mark, which means they will stay in the league the next season.
