CAIRO-8 August 2020: Lazio manager, Simone Inzaghi, and former Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino, are the main candidates to replace Maurizio Sarri at Juventus.

The Italian giants sacked Sarri after the club was knocked out of the competition's round of 16 on Friday night against Lyon.

"Juventus Football Club announces that Maurizio Sarri has been relieved of his post as coach of the First Team,” Juventus statement said.

Sarri was sacked after less than 10 days from leading the club to win the Serie a title for the 9th consecutive season.

Juventus statement added "The club would like to thank the coach for having written a new page in Juventus’ history with the victory of the ninth-consecutive championship, the culmination of a personal journey that led him to climb all the divisions of Italian football,”

Inzaghi had a fantastic season with Lazio as he led them to finish fourth in the league which secured their place in the UEFA Champions League next season.

On the other hand, Pochettino led Tottenham to the UEFA Champions League final in 2019 but lost the title to Liverpool.

Four months later, he was sacked after a series of poor results with the English club.
