CAIRO-31 July 2020: Fulham are one game away from sealing promotion to the Premier League after spending one season at the second tier of the English football.

Fulham suffered a 2-1 loss to Cardiff City at home on Thursday night but they reached the final thanks to their 2_0 win in Wales last week.

Curtis Nelson opened the score for Cardiff City after 8 minutes to give his team fans hope to bounce back from the first leg loss but the home team equalised a minute later through Neeskens Kebano.

Lee Tomlin added Cardiff's second goal to be one goal away from securing their spot at Wembley but they failed to break the home team's defense at the remaining minutes.

"We’ve got ourselves to the Final, an incredible achievement in terms of a long, drawn out season. The goal was to get to the Final and we’ve done that." Fulham manager Scott Parker said in his post-match press conference.

Fulham will challenge their city rivals Brentford at the competition's final at Wembley on Tuesday.
