CAIRO-23 July 2020: Liverpool Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah stated on Wednesday night that winning the Premier League title is a historic achievement for the club.

"This is a historic day for the club as we won the title after 30 years of absence." Salah said after he received his Premier League medal.

The Egyptian winger wore the Egyptian flag during the ceremony as he became the first Egyptian player to win a Premier League medal.

The Egyptian added "I am so happy to win the Premier League title after winning the UEFA Champions League title and the FIFA Club World Cup title. We missed our fans but we will celebrate with them next season."

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson lifted the long-awaited trophy in front of an empty Anfield except for the team staff and the players' families who were given permission to attend the spectacular ceremony.

Henderson received the trophy from the club legend Kenny Dalglish, who was the team's manager when the Reds last won the title in 1990.

Salah has made massive contributions in his team's stellar campaign to win the long-awaited trophy, having scored 19 goals.
