CAIRO – 27 June 2017: The Egyptian national youth volleyball team U21, led by head coach Maged Mohamed Mostafa Mohamed, bid farewell to the International Federation for Volleyball (FIVB) U21 World Championships on Sunday after losing all matches in the first round.

Marking Egypt’s 11th appearance in the FIVB Men’s U21 World Championship, the team took their third defeat against China, only winning one set (25-22) against China’s three (25-13, 25-18, 25-15), as confirmed by the FIVB website.

The team lost to both Japan 3-1 and Brazil 3-0 in the first round matches, putting them in last place of group D with zero points.

As per the qualification system for the FIVB World Championship, the first two teams of each group qualify for moving into the next stage of the competition, the quarterfinals.
