CAIRO_4 July 2020: Al Ahly winger Hussein El Shahat will not be fit for CAF Champions League semi-finals, according to Filgoal.

The winger underwent hernia surgery in June and he needs 10 weeks to participate in the team training sessions, which means he will not return to the team till September.

El Shahat joined the Red Devils in 2019 and since then he became a key player in Rene Weiler's squad.

The CAF Executive Committee announced on Tuesday that CAF Champions League semi-finals will resume in September with a Final Four (4) format, adding that the semi-Final matches will be played in a single match.

Al Ahly will face 2017 CAF Champions League winners Wydad Casablanca, while Zamalek will take on Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca.

Al Ahly has won a record 8 CAF Champions League titles but they failed to win the title since 2013.
