CAIRO_27 June 2020: Brentford achieved a 1_0 victory over Championship leaders, West Bromwich Albion, on Friday night to turn up heat in the promotion race.

Egyptian defender Ahmed Hegazi played the whole game and he couldn't help his team get a better result.

Brentford scored the winning goal after 16 minutes by Ollie Watkins while the league leaders failed to break Brentford defense and equal the score.

"We were below par in the first half. We weren't aggressive enough. In the second half, we improved a lot and we had some domination but there were not enough clear-cut chances." West Bromwich Albion manager Slaven Bilic said after the game.

West Bromwich Albion share the top of the Championship table with Leeds United, who still have a game to play.

West Brom could lose the top spot when Leeds United host Fulham on Saturday afternoon.

Brentford's are now third at the table with 66 points, five points behind the league leaders, which puts much pressure on West Bromwich Albion with 7 games remaining.
