CAIRO – 26 June 2017: The UEFA Champions League’s official Twitter account inadvertently created a raucous squabble between Christiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi fans on Saturday. The incident was a result of a tweet in which the league congratulated Messi on his 30th birthday with a photo captioned “the greatest?”

UEFA’s question caused Ronaldo fans to bite back harshly, generating a series of replies in support of their own belief that the Portuguese forward is solely “the greatest.”

Earlier in June, Ronaldo faced accusations of committing tax fraud in the amount of of £13 million ($14.5 million), which he has firmly repudiated.

The 23-year-old player has reportedly fretted over allegations of him committing tax fraud. Leading Spanish publications strongly confirmed reports linking him with a move away from the Royal Whites.

Similarly in 2013, La Liga runner-ups FC Barcelona’s striker Lionel Messi had the same fate, when accusations surfaced of tax fraud worth £3 million.
