CAIRO_20 June 2020: President of International Handball Federation, Hassan Mostafa, believes that Egypt is capable of hosting 2021 Handball World Cup in 2021 despite the current circumstances.

"I want to thank the Egyptian government for all its efforts to be prepared for 2021 Handball World Cup despite the current difficult circumstances." Mostafa said on Friday.

Egypt hosts the biggest event in handball between 14 and 31 January with the participation of 32 teams for the first time in the competition's history.

Mostafa added "Egypt hosted the competition before in 1999 with the participation of 24 teams. This time 32 teams will participate in the competition."

The Egyptian team finished 6th when Egypt hosted the tournament in 1999 and two years later the Pharaohs achieved their biggest achievement in the competition's history when they finished 4th in France.
