CAIRO, 16 June 2020: Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, announced the timetable for the resumption of the activities of the Football Association in Egypt.

Starting from 20 June 2020 the training activity will return to the clubs.

While the Ministry allowed the official competition of the Egyptian Football Association activities to continue starting from 25 July 2020.

The Ministry of Youth & Sports revealed the studies and experiences that were used before setting the date to allow the start of the official competitions of the Football Association, which are:

a) Instructions and decisions of the Crises Committee in the Council of the Ministry
b) Ministry of Health and Population (Preventive Medicine)
c) World Health Organization
d) Guide to preventive and medical guidelines
e) Experiences of a number of countries European Leagues
f) FIFA Regulations (May 2020)

The Egyptian Football Association and the bodies participating in the competitions are responsible for implementing the precautionary measures, the preventive measures and the resulting effects, according to the plan published officially by the Ministry.

The Ministry clarified 7 general controls for the return of football activity, which are:

1- Raising awareness among players, administrative and technical bodies and all employees of the system.

2- Rules for stadium and stadium personnel.

3- Physical distancing of all elements of the football system to limit the spread and transmission of infection.

4- Raising awareness of the precautionary measures among workers to reduce the infection.

5- Medical surveillance through the medical observer and the competent committee of the Association.

6- The steps taken in case of suspicion and the means of transferring the case and dealing with it according to the requirements of the Ministry of Health and Population.

7- Safe disposal of waste, taking into account precautionary and preventive measures.

The Ministry also revealed the regulatory measures related to the return of Football Association activity, as follows:

1- Procedures to be taken in training and matches stadiums (in preparation for competitions).

2- Actions taken before matches.

3- Procedures for teams to reach the stadiums.

4- Procedures for using dressing rooms (teams and referees).

5- Procedures for the two teams to enter the stadium.

6- Procedures for being inside the stadiums; it is divided into 3 sectors: inside the stadium/ stands/ outside the stadium.

7- Procedures during the match.

8- Post-match procedures.

9- Instructions for media crews.

10 - Procedures for setting up teams in hotels.

11- Follow-up procedures in case of finding a positive case for a member of the sports system.
