Khalaf carries Egypt’s hopes in world cup

CAIRO – 23 June 2017: Ahmed Khalaf, Egyptian national team captain, seeks to help the pharaohs to achieve a great result in U 19 Basketball World Cup hosted by Egypt from July 1-9.

Khalaf talked about his participation in the World Cup, he told FIBA.com “We are not so young anymore and now every player knows how important it is. Everyone will be watching how we play and how good we are. We have to show our best for our country."

Khalaf talked about the way to get a better result, he said “We have to be like one hand, everybody together - players, coaches and regular people. And to fight one final time for Egypt."

Asked about the feeling of playing in front of Egyptian fans, he said “It's so beautiful to play in Egypt in front of my people. We have very good fans too. I hope we show something special.“

Khalaf, 18 years old, plays his fourth World Cup after participating twice in U 17 World Cup and also played in the last edition of U 19 World Cup held in Greece.
