CAIRO_30 April 2020: Former Real Madrid Croatian striker, Davor Suker, believes that the team current striker, Karim Benzema, is one of the best in the world.

"Today he is part of Real Madrid's history. I like the way he plays and there is no doubt he's one of the best players in the world." Suker told Goal France.

The French striker joined Real Madrid from Olympique Lyonnais in 2009 and since then he established himself as the team's starting striker.

The Croatian added "The statistics are still the main criterion on which we judge a forward. As a No.9, I love him."

Suker, who won the 1998 World Cup golden boot, wore Real Madrid jersey between 1996 and 1999 and won the Laliga title in 1997 as well as achieving the UEFA Champions League in 1998.

During his time in Madrid, the Croatian striker scored 38 goals in 86 games.
