UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin believes that Liverpool should finish the season crowned as Premier League champions.

The president of the UEFA [Union of European Football Associations] spoke to Slovenian sports newspaper Ekipa about his opinion in regards to awarding the Premier League title to Liverpool.

“I see no way for Liverpool to stay untitled. If the championship resumes, they will almost certainly win it - theoretically, it has not yet reached the guaranteed level, but it is practically close," Ceferin said, as reported from Sky Sports.

Additionally, the 52-year-old Slovenian addressed what he believes should happen if the season isn’t continued.

"However, if it could not be played, it would also be necessary to announce the results in some way and find some key on how the champions should be determined. And, of course, again I do not see a scenario in which that would not be Liverpool,” Ceferin added, according to Sky Sports.

Liverpool are currently top of the league with a 25 points gap from Manchester City who sit in second place with 8 games remaining in the competition.
