CAIRO – 21 June 2017: Sir Alex Ferguson, Manchester United veteran manager, spoke to Manchester United’s official website about the club’s current football team on June 15.

“The great thing about United is you’ve got to accept the challenge of beating the best. The expectation is always there and the matches we’ll face in the ICC (Friendly pre-season tournament) are all big ones,” Ferguson stated.

Ferguson then talked about the great opportunity that the young players receive at Manchester United.

“It’s very good for the younger players to come into this type of competition in terms of preparing to be a Manchester United player. The more intense the challenge they can get, the better prepared they will be when facing Manchester City in an important league match or Real Madrid or Barcelona in Europe,” he added.

He then concluded by stating his opinion about the opportunity youngsters receive at the pre-season tournaments.

“The preparation to play in games as big as that can be started in pre-season tournaments like the ICC, which is fantastic,” Ferguson ended his talk with the website.

The Scottish manager Ferguson was able to win 38 trophies during his time at Manchester United from 1986 to 2016.
