CAIRO-2 April 2020: Former Al Ahly captain Osama Orabi believes that the departure of Al Ahly's captains, Hossam Ashour, Ahmed Fathi and Sherif Ekramy, will not affect the team.

"They are experienced players and played a big role with the team on and off the pitch." Orabi said.

Al Ahly announced on Wednesday the departure of Ahmed Fathi as the club and the player failed to reach an agreement over contact extension.

The same situation happened a week before as the club announced the departure of Sherif Ekramy and Hossam Ashour.

The first wanted to leave the club to earn

Orabi continued "Mohamed Hani can replace Ahmed Fathi as the club right back while Ashour and Ekramy did not participate frequently with the team at the recent seasons."

Earlier in March, Al Ahly informed the team captain Ashour that he is not in the manager's plans and offered him a position at the club's official channel.

The club also promised the team captain to support him in his future plans and organize a testimonial game for him in case he announced his retirement. However, Ashour told the club that he wants to continue his career as a professional footballer.

On the other hand, the club offered a contract extension for Ekramy but he rejected the club's offer and told the club board that he wants to leave the club seeking for a more playing time.
