CAIRO – 20 June 2017: Al-Ahly assistant coach Ahmed Ayoub told Ahly’s official website on Monday that his team is trained and ready for Wednesday’s CAF Champions League match against Wydad Casablanca.
“We respect Wydad and we have studied them in order to identify their strengths and weaknesses,” Ayoub said. “We have prepared well for Wydad and we focused on training our players to perform well for the match.”
“We know how important the match is and how difficult it will be,” Ayoub said. “The stadium is expected to be filled with a lot of Wydad supporters. However, we believe that Ahly players have the experience and qualities that enables them to succeed in such difficult situations.”
Ayoub added that all players are training very hard in order to gain a place in the starting lineup. “All of them are determined to win the tournament this season in order to qualify for the upcoming Club World Cup in Abu Dhabi,” he said.
The match is scheduled to take place on Wednesday at 1 am, Egyptian local time.
