CAIRO - 21 February 2020: Egypt U-23 team will face Argentina on 29 March in Dubai in the build-up to 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
"We will play against Argentina and we want to fix another friendly game on 26 March. We have three offers from Japan, South Korea and Croatia but we did not decide yet." Egypt Olympic team manager, Shawki Gharib, said on Friday.
Egypt qualified for 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo after winning U-23 Africa Cup of Nations, held in Egypt between 8 and 22 November 2019.
Gharib added "We want to play seven friendly games between Match and July to be ready for the competition."
Egypt appeared at the Olympic games 11 times before and their best achievement was the fourth place in 1928 in Amsterdam and 1964 in Tokyo.
Egypt’s last participation at the tournament was in 2012 in London and the national team was eliminated from the competitions at the quarter finals after losing to Japan.
