CAIRO – 18 June 2017: Eric Cantona former Manchester United and French National team player slammed Chelsea’s manager Antonio Conte with harsh remarks on June 16 regarding the text that Conte sent to Chelsea’s striker Diego Costa.
Cantona spoke to Euro Sport in a three minute video condemning Conte’s actions towards Costa.

Cantona said to Euro Sport, “Angry texting, it’s not a good idea and breaking up with a text it’s even a worse idea. Mix the two together and you have Antonio Conte’s now infamous: “Good luck for next year but you are not a part of my plan.”

Cantona then moved to compare between how the French Zinedine Zidane manages Real Madrid and how Conte takes control of Chelsea’s players.

Cantona concluded: 'Zinedine Zidane has solved football’s ultimate squaring of the circle: transformed a sum of talents into a fabulous team; It should be enough to silence all those who were dubious about his soft-spoken approach. His motto: “I am not managing egos, I am managing personalities.” With five major trophies in one and a half years, he must be doing something right.”

Conte sent a message on June 7 to Costa telling him that he enjoyed managing him during the last season, but he will not be in his plans for the next season.
