CAIRO – 16 January 2020: Al-Ahly announced on Thursday that the club has reached an agreement with Rapid Wien to sign their Senegalese striker, Aliou Badji, for 2 million Euros.

The player signed the contracts to join the Red Devils for te next four and half years.

The Senegalese forward is set to arrive in Cairo on Thursday night and he will undergo medical tests on Friday to be ready to join the first team training sessions.

Badji is expected to replace Al-Ahly Moroccan striker, Walid Azarro, who lost his starting position since the club appointed Rene Weiler as the club manager.

Badji, born in 1997 in Senegal, started his career with local club, Casa Sports de Ziguinchor, before moving to Sweden to play for Djurgårdens IF in 2017.

The Senegalese failed to establish himself as the first choice striker despite scoring important goals for the club and he left in February 2019 to Austria to play for the capital giants, Rapid Wien.

After less than a year in Austria, the player returned back to Africa to play for one of the best clubs in the continent.
