CAIRO – 28 December 2019: Al-Ahly hosts Zimbabwe giants, FC Platinum, on Saturday night at Al Salam Stadium during matchweek3 of CAF Champions League competition.

Al-Ahly have had an amazing run at the domestic league and they achieved their best ever start at the competition as they gained 24 points from eight games to top the table with a comfortable lead.

However, the team fans’ eyes are focusing on the African competition as the club who won a record eight CAF Champions League titles failed to win the competition since 2013.

Al-Ahly have had a frustrating start at the competition as the team lost the opening game at the group stage 1-0 to Etoile du Sahel but they bounced back with a 2-1 victory over Sudanese giants, Al Hilal.

“Our goal is to secure the three points to take another step towards the next stages. All the players are focused to win the title this season.” Al-Ahly defender, Ramy Rabia, said during the pre-game press conference.

Al-Ahly and Al Hilal share the second place with three points each and they are three points behind the Tunisian giants who won the first two games but they are facing a tough test earlier on Saturday as they host Al-Hilal in Rades.
