CAIRO - 16 June 2017: After defeating Jeunesse Sportive de la Saoura in a 5-2 victory on Wednesday, Union Sportive Médina d'Alger advances to third place in the Algerian league. This was the last match for USM Alger before their game against Zamalek later in the month.

USM Alger managed an overall victory of 50 points in the season, with Mouloudia Club d'Alger reaching the same. Due to direct match results between the two teams, MC Alger maintains second place in the Algerian league. However, MC Alger had already qualified for the CAF Confederation Cup, allowing USM Algers the opportunity to advance.

Zamalek faced USM Alger in the first leg of the CAF Champions League on June 2, ending in a 1-1 draw. However, Zamalek leads the group with five points, USM Alger coming in second place with four points, Al-Ahly in third and Zimbabwean Caps United FC in last place with 3 points.

Wednesday June 21 is set for the next Zamalek-USM Alger game at Omar Hamadi stadium in Algeria at 11:00 pm CLT. The Algerian team will play the game without audience because of the penalties of the Algerian football federation for the use of fireworks.
