CAIRO – 14 November 2019: James Milner revealed on Thursday that Liverpool legend, Steven Gerrard, is the best all-round player he has ever seen during his time with football.

“As an all-round player, he’s probably the best I’ve seen. He could do everything, both feet, score goals, defend, tackle, get about the field and lead by example. An unbelievable player to play with and horrible to play against.” Milner said.

Liverpool vice-captain, Milner, shared the dressing room with the former Liverpool captain, Gerrard, during the international duty with England but he did not play alongside him at the Reds as Milner joined Liverpool after Gerrard was already retired.

Milner added “Even in a one-touch session, the passes he made, the pace he put on them and you’re expected to deal with them – that was the level he played at.”

Gerrard won all kind of titles during his time at Liverpool but he failed to lead his team to win the Premier League title, which the club failed to achieve since 1990.

Milner continued “I can say it’s disappointing for his career and the amount of time he played for Liverpool and he had an unbelievable career and obviously to win the league would have been a nice touch for him.”

Milner and his teammates aim to lead the club to win the title and they are in a perfect position after 12 fixtures as they are 8 points clear from Chelsea and Leicester City who share the second place.
