CAIRO – 8 November 2019: CEO of the Egyptian Media Group Tamer Morsi met with Chairman of Tazkarti and Presentation company Montasser Al Nabarawy to review the preparations for the Africa U-23 Cup of Nations which is taking place in Egypt between 8 and 22 November.

The tournament, qualifying for 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, kicks off on Friday night when the host nation, Egypt, faces Mali at Cairo Stadium.

Morsi and Al Nabarawy discussed the arrangements for the opening ceremony, the final rehearsal and everything related to the first day of the tournament in the presence of Egyptian Football Association Board representative Mohamed Fadl and Chairman of Promo Vision Co. Mohamed Yehia, who cooperates with Presentation in organizing the opening ceremony.

Famed Egyptian band Sharmoofers and Nesma Mahgoub are set to perform in U-23 AFCON opening ceremony
which will include other stunning shows for the audience at the stadium.

Egypt national team was drawn in Group A alongside Mali, Cameroon and Ghana in Group A.

Egypt football appeared at the Olympic Games 11 times before. Their best achievement was taking the fourth place in 1928 in Amsterdam and 1964 in Tokyo.

Egypt’s last participation at the tournament was in 2012 in London and the national team was eliminated from the competitions at the quarter finals after losing to Japan.
