CAIRO – 14 June 2017: Serie A runners-up S.C. Roma announced Eusebio Di Francesco as its new head coach, replacing Luciano Spalletti who has moved to Inter Milan, according to a statement released on the club’s official website on Tuesday.

As a former Roma player for five years from 1996 to 2001, Di Francesco said that he "is very happy to be back again."

Di Francesco, 47, signed a two-season contract with Roma on Tuesday after spending roughly five seasons at U.S. Sassuolo Calcio, who finished 12th in the most recent Serie A.
"I thank [S.C. Roma] President Pallotta and managers for this opportunity,” Di Francesco said, adding, “I will put in all my efforts to get this team the results they deserve.”
