CAIRO – 31 October 2019: Egypt national team is set to play a friendly game against Liberia on 7 November at Borg El Arab Stadium, according to the national team director, Mohamed Barakat.

This game will be Egypt’s second friendly game under the new manager, Hossam El Badry, who succeeded Mexican manager, Javier Aguirre, who was sacked after early exit from 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

The first game against Botswana was played at October International duty and ended with a 1-0 victory for the pharaohs thanks to a goal from Al-Ahly’s Hamdy Fathy.

The Egyptian team is preparing for 2021 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers, in which the team will face Kenya and Comoros respectively on 14 and 18 November.

Egypt international, Mohamed Salah, is expected to participate with the team during the international duty in November after he missed the national team camp in October as El Badry decided to rest him.

The Qualifiers draw put Egypt in Group G alongside Togo, Kenya and Comoros and the top two teams of the group will secure qualification to the final tournament in Cameroon.
