CAIRO - 13 June 2017: At the request of Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger, an official offer of £ 60 million ($ 75.9 million) will seal the deal in signing French Olympique Lyonnais forward Alexandre Lacazette, The Sun reported on Monday.

Amid the many criticisms from fans on the poor results of the season, including failing to secure a seat in the Champions League next season, the Gunners (Arsenal) coach wants to strengthen his team for the next season and compete for the Premier League title.

The Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) recently rejected Atletico Madrid’s appeal of a transfer ban imposed by FIFA, meaning Atletico cannot register new players until January 2018. Lacazette had a verbal agreement to join Atletico Madrid if the transfer ban was lifted, ESPN reported in May.

With Spain’s third most successful club prevented from deals this summer, Arsenal fans are hoping the French striker will be signed on to the team.
