CAIRO – 6 October 2019: Egypt volleyball team suffered 3-1 loss to Russia at the fifth game of volleyball World Cup 2019, takes place in Japan between 1 and 15 October.

The Russian giants had a strong start at the game and won the first set 25-19, however the Egyptians bounced back to win the second set 25-21 to equal the score.

Russia dominated the game since then and won the next two sets 25-19 and 25-21 respectively to win the game 3-1.

Egypt suffered their third loss at the world cup after achieving two straight wins over Australia and Iran.

Egypt’s record of points stopped at 7 to drop to the sixth place from five matches.

The Egyptian team aims to return to their victorious run when they face Italy on Wednesday.

Egypt’s remaining games are six against: Italy, Poland, Japan, Tunisia, Argentina and USA.
