Cairo – 27 September 2019: The Alexandrian giants, Al Ittihad, seem to have a special bond with the biggest competition in the Arab world which brings together the top teams from the Atlantic ocean to the Arabian Gulf.

Whatever Al Ittihad’s situation at the domestic competitions, the green shirt holders know how to shine at the Arab Clubs Championship.

On Thursday, Al Ittihad defeated Kuwaiti giants, Al Araby, 2-0 to secure an expected qualification to the second round after winning the first leg in Kuwait 1-0.

Al Ittihad’s starting strikers, Khaled Kamar and Razak Cisse, were the men behind the Alexandrian’s victory to the second round of the competition.

Last season, Al Ittihad were the last Egyptian team to say goodbye to the competition after losing at the quarter finals to the tournament’s finalists, Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia.

Al-Ittihad has had an amazing run at the tournament and they knocked out 2018 CAF Champions League winners, Espérance, at round of 32 before knocking out Egyptian giants, Zamalek at the second round.

The Alexandrian team aims to achieve a better result this season and to be a good representatives of the Egyptian football as the two biggest teams in the country, Al-Ahly and Zamalek, are not participating in the competition this season.
