CAIRO – 27 September 2019: Al-Ahly Swiss manager, Rene Weiler, announced the team squad for Al-Ahly clash against Equatorial Guinea’s Cano Sport at CAF Champions League round of 32 second leg.

Al-Ahly Moroccan striker, Walid Azarro, was included in the list after he missed Al-Ahly recent clashes for injury.

The striker is expected to play his first game under the command of the Swiss manager.

Ahmed Fathy, Ahmed El Sheik, Akiou Dieng and Salah Mosen also returned to the squad after they missed Al-Ahly 1-0 victory over Smouha at the opening game of the league.

On the other hand, Ali Maaloul, Giraldo and Saleh Gomaa were ruled out of the clash.

Al-Ahly achieved a 2-0 away victory at the first leg in Equatorial Guinea thanks to two goals from Walid Soliman and Salah Mohsen.

Al-Ahly, who holds a record for achieving eight Champions League titles, target their 9th title and their first one since 2013 when Al-Ahly defeated South Africa’s Orlando Pirates at the final.

Al-Ahly lost back to back Champions League finals to Wydad Casablance and Tunisian giants, Esperence, in 2017 and 2018 respectively while they were knocked out of the last season’s competition from the quarter finals after a humiliating loss to Mamelodi Sundowns.
