CAIRO – 20 September: Zamalek face their arch rivals, Al-Ahly, on Friday night at the Egyptian Super Cup Derby at Borg El Arab Stadium.

Zamalek players aim to reconcile with their fans after their poor finish to the Egyptian League last season after they were leading the table almost the entire season.

Zamalek lost the title race to Al-Ahly and also lost the derby 1-0 at the last game of the season.

Zamalek made many changes to the squad at the summer transfer market and they added another two North African players, Mohamed Ounajem and chraf Bencerki, as well as Ismaily Veteran goalkeeper, Mohamed Awwad.

Zamalek also resigned their magician Mahmoud Abdelrazik Shikabala who spent the last two seasons away from the club.

Zamalek changed their coaching staff as they appointed the Serbian manager, Micho, as their new manager and since his first day he earned a place inside Zamalek fans’ hearts, aving led the team to win the Egyptian Cup title.

Zamalek expected squad for the game consists of: Awwad, Mahmoud Alaa, Mohamed Abdelghany, Hamdi Naguez, Mohamed Abdelshafy, Ferjani Sassi, Tarek Hamed, Youssef Obama, Bencherki, Mostafa Mohamed and Shikabala.

This edition of the Super Cup is for the 2017-2018 season when Al Ahly won the Egyptian league while Zamalek won the Egyptian Cup.
