CAIRO – 19 September 2019: Egypt national team defender, Ahmed Hegazi, returned to his team’s training sessions on Wednesday after he recovered from the ankle injury that forced him to miss his team’s opening games at the Championship.

“I’m very happy to be back in training and the ankle is feeling fine. There is no date for a return to playing yet but we will see how I progress from here.” Hegazi told the club’s official website.

Hegazi participated with the national team during 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt and then he underwent an ankle surgery.

Hegazi added ” I have come back a little bit quicker than was expected which is good for me. The team is doing well and we just need to keep this momentum going.”

Hegazi joined West Bromwich Albion in 2017 summer and since then he established himself as a key player at his team.

Hegazi and his teammates aim to seal promotion to the Premier League this season after they were so close last season, in which they reached the championship playoff’s semis.
